Meet Dr. Rosevear
Dr. Rosevear was born and raised in the Seattle, Washington area. He graduated from the University of Puget Sound and completed his dental education with a DDS degree at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry. He received his graduate education in orthodontics at West Virginia University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and received a post-doctoral M.S. degree.
Dr. Rosevear’s early practice years were spent in association with noted orthodontists in Eugene, Oregon and Frankfurt, Germany. He was an assistant professor of dentistry at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry where he was chairman of the department of morphology and occlusion. He took a leave of absence to begin his private practice of orthodontics, and continues to hold that position with the university. He is also a part time faculty member of the dental hygiene department at Johnson County Community College. He has lectured to academic groups, organizations and universities both locally and throughout the USA.
Dr. Rosevear is involved in professional organizations and holds membership in the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, the Greater Kansas City Orthodontic Association, the American Dental Association, and the Kansas Dental Association.
Dr. Rosevear is a volunteer leader for 30 years of the UMKC Dental Outreach program, a self funded organization of dentists, senior students, and auxiliary personnel who deliver dental care to orphans in Venezuela and Honduras. The group, established in 1985, travels to South and Central America annually, and provides treatment to over 1400 children from orphanages throughout the country. Since 2005, Dr. Rosevear has also been a team member of the dental outreach group that brings treatment to poor and underserved people in the villages around Pimienta Honduras.
Dr. Rosevear resides in Overland Park, Kansas. He has two adult sons, Scott, a graduate of Kansas State University, and Landon, a graduate of the University of Kansas. Dr. Rosevear enjoys canoeing, bird hunting, motorcycle trips, and camping. He volunteers at his church, where he dedicates his time to serving on the technical production service crew.
